Canon allows Photo5 participants to duplicate objects

2,473

As you'll have noticed, we've received a number of queries about whether you can duplicate objects, i.e. add multiple tea-light candles to an image, instead of just the one you received.

It's been brought to our attention that this rule is unclear and so we have revised the rules to allow for duplication.

Our sincere apologies for any confusion or inconvenience caused - we hope that this hasn't significantly affected your entry ideas.

Best of luck and if you have any further queries please email photo5@canon.com.au.

So you are saying, we are allowed to use more than one umbrella, more than one candle tea light??? Just making sure I am reading this clear!

Hi, Not to complicate things further but i am curious about the conditions of duplicating items and colour/size of the dulplicates. Do the duplicates of the item need to be the same size and colour?

i.e. i received a small orange crayon. Does that mean i can only use duplicates of small orange crayons? Or can there be varying colours and sizes?

Anna said:

Hi Nathaniel, that's right, the duplicates of the item don't need to be the same size and colour - you can use anything you like - just as long as the original object is somewhere in the image.

It read 1/01/0001. Plus i was having trouble uploading my photo in the first place. it took a few days of trying. I finally got my photo uploaded this morning.

QUESTION: How often is the gallery updated?

Oct 08 2008, 02:19 PM

Anna said:

Hi Naomi, the gallery went live today and should refresh immediately after images are uploaded (as long as you refresh your browser).

I have uploaded 2 photos tonight, 15/10/08, but they have not gone to the gallery yet.

Re:Naomi's question...is there any sort of delay on the upload.

Hi Alan, your photos are most likely pending approval from Canon. I'd recommending checking back this afternoon.

Hi, I can't seem to find my entry in the main gallery unless I do a search for my entry. It has been up for about a week already and has still not made it into the main gallery. I tried again this morning but now the gallery doesn't even show up at all??? Any help would be great! Cheers :)

Hi, One of my photos comes up on the search page but doesn't show up when you click on it. The others all come up.

Hi Enrico, that's very strange! Can you send the details of the image to photo5@canon.com.au and we will check it at our end?

Anna said:

Hi Evelyn, can you also send image and photographer details to photo5@canon.com.au and we will look into this. Thanks!

I have also uploaded some images which still have not appeared in the Gallery.  One I downloaded two days ago.  I have also noticed that the latest download date I could find in the gallery was 19/10.  Why are there no images after this date.  Thanks!

When I originally enquired it was a definitive NO duplication rule... Annoying... I really would have thought the 'organisers' would have thought this through... Too many cooks in the kitchen.
