What on earth is the point to limiting the number of registrations? My neighbour went to enter this morning and found the registrations closed. The only reason I can think of is to limit the cost of producing and mailing the mystery boxes. Can she still enter if she uses the contents of my box after I finish with them?

Hi Vanessa, thanks for your feedback. When we realised the popularity of Photo5 last year, we made sure to increase registrations by four times the number in 2008 - as the boxes are produced prior to registration, there is a need to cap these. It is clear by the feedback we are receiving though, that the competition is still more popular than we imagined and we'll definitely be keeping this in mind for next year!

Unfortunately your neighbour won't be able to enter this year's competition using your objects, as everyone who enters must have registered. But so they don't miss out next year, we'd recommend they register to vote on the Photo5 website and 'opt in' to receive information on Canon promotions - www.canon.com.au/photo5 - this will be possible in a couple of days. Then they'll get the chance to register for next year's Photo5 competition before it opens to the public.

Thanks again for sharing your thoughts.

Can we be informed as to how many people have registered?

Hi Sean, sure - approximately 10,000 people registered which is more than four times the number when compared to 2007.
