Congratulations to Luke for this incredible image, which has been chosen as the latest EOS Photochains hero-chains winner!

We were amazed at the vitality that could be portrayed from capturing the side of a castle – great job Luke!

Luke has chosen “Broken” as the new link for this month’s challenge. We have enjoyed the images that have already come through, and can’t wait to see how people continue to interpret this link through photography.

Make sure you get involved so you too can have a chance at winning an  EOS 550D Single IS Lens Kit valued at RRP $1,499.

Have you uploaded your image? Tell us if you think the new link is challenging.

If you’re looking for some inspiration, see what Luke says about his image and thoughts for the community.

1) What inspired this shot?
The shot was taken during a recent holiday in South Africa at the Castle of Good Hope, Cape Town. The contrast between the red window frames and doors, against the yellow wall, was what first grabbed my attention.

I also liked the mixture of the structured, evenly spaced windows with what appears to be a very hap-hazard placement of the staircase. I guess the ordered disorder spoke to my personality type.

2) Why did you choose 'Broken' as the link?
I felt that ‘Broken’ was a link that was both broad and emotive, allowing for a number of imaginative interpretations to be made. I can’t wait to see what people come up with.

3) How would you describe yourself as a photographer?
I’m an amateur photographer that has been playing around with a point and shoot for a few years now. I especially like to compose photos that portray the subject in a slightly different context to how it would be perceived in ‘real life’. This generally means lots and lots of photos, until I get the image that’s just right.

I have wanted to step up to a DSLR for some time. Now that I have been provided with that opportunity, I feel as though my passion for photography will continue to grow, and I look forward to developing my skills further.

4) Anything else you want to share with the EOS community?
Thank you to all the members who voted for my submission. This is the third time I have submitted to the hero-chain, and with so many creative and talented individuals within the EOS community, to win was completely unexpected.

Now that I have a new camera I fully intend to make the most of The World of EOS website, especially the ‘learn’ section. I have already watched several of the tutorial videos and have found them to be very informative.

Good luck to our next round of entrants. For anyone who hasn’t uploaded their image yet, you have until Thursday 2nd June 2011.
