New EOS Photochains hero-chain challenge announced: 'rows'.

Congratulations to Geof, winner of the latest Canon EOS Photochains hero-chain challenge!

We asked Geof a few questions to see what inspired this picture and why he chose ‘rows’ as the new tag. See his answers below.

1) What inspired this shot?
While taking snaps of our sunflowers I concentrated on this macro shot. When I viewed it through the lens, the close up of the flower head seemed to take on a somewhat "wacky" view of looking down on a very colourful forest!!

2) Why did you choose 'rows' as the link?
As per the previous answer, rows of strange colourful trees.

3) How would you describe yourself as a photographer?
I regard myself as a keen, amateur photographer  hoping to take (with a bit of luck) a good shot of everyday subjects. I try to keep an open mind & hopefully, while taking "everyday subjects", see a different perspective.

4) Anything else you want to share with the EOS community?
If you are stuck for ideas keep an eye on the Canon photo competitions such as Photochains, 1Wall, Photo 5, or even the Peoples Gallery. It is also a great idea to look at other peoples photos & subjects for inspiration.

Geof  has won a fantastic prize consisting of an EOS 550D Single IS Lens Kit valued at RRP $1,499. He has chosen ‘rows’ as the new tag for the hero chain.

Visit the hero-chain now to submit your interpretation of 'rows'. You have until Thursday 2nd September.

Good luck Photochainers!

I hate flower photos! said:

I cringe when people submit photos of flowers to these comps.

But, this photo is truly exceptional. It is also one of the few pics I have voted for that has actually won!

Well done to the photographer for bringing a fresh perspective to a worn out photography cliche.

Now, where's my camera? I'm going into the garden.

Great capture :) Congratulations!

To Canon - is it just me that has issues with uploading, I drove a long way yesterday to take a photo for the next chain "Rows" only to find that I can't upload it.  The file is JPEG and 3.5mb but I keep getting an error to ensure it is JPEG and under 5mb??

Alic, I get that same error when uploading to the 1Wall (or at least I have the last two times I entered). I just leave the error message where it is and wait a bit and the file finishes uploading and I can go to the next screen.

Brendon, I get an error with 1wall too but it goes through OK.  Think i have always had the error.

Canon sorted it out for me.  I enter HDR's and my metadata was the problem - thanks Canon :)

Emma, that email never works for me, have tried several times to use it and they are always undeliverable
