Congratulations to Colin McCloud winner of the latest Canon EOS Photochains hero-chain challenge themed 'sand'!

Colin has won an EOS 550D Single IS Lens Kit valued at RRP $1,499 and his tag ‘Old Age' is now the new the hero chain challenge.

In order to find out what inspired Colin, we asked him a few questions..

1) What inspired this shot? 
It was simply that the theme 'sand' inspired a title in my head - "The Sands of Time are Running out" - and I wanted to try and capture this in a photo.

 
2) Why did you choose 'Old Age' as the link?
With my wife and I being in our seventies a common topic for us is 'time running out', therefore inspiring the theme 'Old Age'. 

I also thought that this tag would offer EOS Photochain members variety in the subjects that they can choose to shoot.

3) How would you describe yourself as a photographer? 
In the past four years I have become interested in photography again. As a result I joined the Cairns Photographic Society and since joining my photography skills have further improved - I now understand what photography is and how to take a good photo.

4) Anything else you want to share with the EOS community?
If I may be presumptuous, I would say to the EOS community that if you want to be successful in understanding what a good photo is, try and remember the simple saying, "don't just take a photo, 'make' one", and if you can join a camera club do so. Use criticism constructively to further improve your work.
