We are excited to announce the latest winner of the Canon EOS Photochains hero-chain challenge, the first for 2010...
Congratulations to Aperture, who has won an EOS 500D Single IS Lens Kit valued at RRP $1,649 and 'woman' is now the new inspiration/tag for the hero chain.
We asked Aperture a few questions about the what inspired this shot...
1) What inspired this shot?
I've always been intrigued by mist and how it (visually) changes your perception of the world around you. Whenever I see mist I get inspired to take pictures.
2) How did you achieve this shot?
The photo was a spur of the moment thing. I was overseas for work and one day I walked past a public space. At this public space was a water feature which sprayed a mist of water into the air. Because it was a warm day people walked through the mist for some cooling. All I needed to do was find the right angle, wait, and take a few shots.
3) Why did you choose 'woman' as the link?
There are relatively few 'people shots' in the hero chain. Even fewer images of women. I thought it might be interesting to have one round focus on people rather than objects or abstractions.
4) How would you describe yourself as a photographer?
I am probably best described as an enthusiast photographer. I don't focus on one area of photography in particular. I try to find the beauty in the world around me and aim to capture it.
5) Anything else you want to share with the EOS community?
Just a big thank you to all my fellow photographers for providing me with continuous inspiration.
