We asked Jhhcheng what inspired this hero-chain challenge winning shot...
Q: Can you tell us what inspired this shot?
A: I woke up at 5am on one of the cold winter morning in attempt to take a good sunrise panorama of the old rock pool next to the current Merewether bath (Newcastle). It was frustrating: as I was sleepy and the cloud was thick: the reddish color of the sky was blocked by the cloud. The most frustrating part was that I forgot to setup the camera to shoot RAW for post processing, it was a little too late when I realised it. Full of frustration I decided to go back to bed. On the way back to my car, I decided to stop at the main bath for this last shot (in correct camera setting this time). Although I have taken many photos at the same location, I cannot find one with a better mood than this.
Q: How did you achieve this shot?
A: Canon 50d (autowhite bal), Manual Mode, F11, ISO100, RAW!, Benro carbon tripod with KS0 head, Shutter release, and a lot of luck
Q: Why did you choose 'Sunrise' as the link?
A: I think more people will vote for me! as everyone likes sunrise shots.
Q: How would you describe yourself as a photographer?
A: A keen amature!
Good luck all you Photochainers, can't wait to see what how you interpret 'Sunrise'.
