That's great news!! I just uploaded all 5 of my photos with no difficulties. Thanks for extending... I think many of us are very appreciative, given the time (and not to mention brain power) that went into entries.

Will the judges be veiwing entried via the website, or looking at original files?

The site has sucked out the colour or all my shots which is disapointing.

Thanks for the extension of deadline. It seems to me that the recent upload images list does not refresh, and I have seen the same list for hours. Or is it happened just for me?

Just to clarify, all photos uploaded before 6am on 5th November, that meet terms and conditions, will be excepted - even if they were taken after the original upload date. I suggest you upload images as soon as possible though to ensure you encounter no problems and they are entered before the deadline. Good luck!

I managed to upload all of the briefs except for the close-up brief. It just keeps giving the same error;

As someone else asked, will the judges be viewing the full resolution images or the low-res images which appear on the site?

what happen to the colors of the uploads?! i would have thought canon would use a codeing method that allowed the colours to be accurate...(tumblr has this, so )its not "an internet thing"

Oh gross. i just viewed my images and the quality is so poor. I hope the judges are looking at the originals.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that the judges will be looking at higher resolution versions of the images than those on the website. Don't worry if your image doesn't look as good on the website as it did when you uploaded it - the judges will be looking at the better quality images.

It will now be a nail-biting wait for the announcement of the finalists...and then the winners for this years competition. I think Canon made a good comeback considering the server issues. Well done and I'll be looking forward to participating again next year.

I successfully loaded my images and viewed them not long after.

However a couple of days later I can't see them displayed in their catorgory. When I do a photographer search for them they appear.

My question is, can you tell me why they are not showing and will the judges have seen them anyway?

Finally I was glad to see Canon acting professionaly due to the website problem. Good (and bad) customer service really does make a lasting impression.

Canon has not even hinted anywhere on the site or the blog what time the announcement would be made but we're half way through the day so it can't be too long now :)

Here's hoping its soon or my refresh button is going to seize up due to over-use!

Looks like tonight from the flickr group, so soonish... maybe within 10 hours...

I can see it now...

"Canon wishes to apologise for our server crashing, again, after every entrant sat on their computers refreshing the site all day."

Haha. Very exciting, though!

Maybe the number of people refreshing the site is what is slowing the them from uploading the finalists :p

This is so frustrating, I keep getting funny looks from my boss, everytime I refresh the page. How can Canon expect me to work, with all this pent up anxiety.
