MacTheMag is giving 10 readers one last chance to register for the EOS Photo5 competition and receive a Canon EOS Photo5 box. All you have to do is help get the word out about MacTheMag by conducting your own form of guerilla marketing – making their name visible in a public place. Then all you need to do is take a photo and post it onto MacTheForum. The ten best entries will win an EOS Photo5 box. So this is your chance to use your imagination and hopefully get the chance to continue your creativity with the EOS Photo5 competition.

Hi Donna,

Good on you for getting Boked right. It should be great!!!

I won't be able to get my done as my camera lens is 28mm wide angle. Even though I tried sooo many times, I just realised that it won't work.

Anyway, good luck to you!!!

Cheers

Angelita

A quick Q on uploading.

Your Faq's state that we should upload a high resolution image under 5 meg.

Generally high resolution means 300dpi. This seems a bit odd for uploading for the web, where 72 dpi is usually the go.

So what is the recomended resolution?

Thanks,

Lea

Hi Lea,

300dpi is the recommended resolution, however, the only stimpulation is that it is less than 5MB.

Hi Lia,

That is really odd. We will look into it and figure out what is going on there. In the meantime, you should email photo5_support@canon.com.au with your My Canon account details so they can let you know when it has been fixed.

Thanks Lauren, i did do that allready with no reply.(It's only been 24 hours though)However this is why i am asking, there may be at least one other photographer who has had a reject and as such both of us will be able to redeem ourselves for the whatevers and upload .

Cheers,

Lia

Hi Lia,

I believe this problem should have been fixed now. Try and upload again and if it still isn't working send another email. Thanks for letting us know!

Thanks Lauren for your fast response. Unfortunately though the message i still get is,  you have allready submitted for this brief. You may only submit 1 image for each brief.(this very same email  says submit another photo)I'll not get in contact again for at least another day though because we are advised that it could take up to 74 hours for a reply.

Regards,

Lia

for the last 72 hours i've tried many times unsucessfully to upload my images. I've used the most vanilla format & experimented with filesizes to the point of making my images 1meg, but EVERY time I get an 'invalid image format' error message..

I love this contest & really want to start uploading my entries, but right now am feeling totally frustated.. note: i am a very tech savvy person who knows alot about image formats & file sizes & am finding this problem most annoying.

Hi Mark,

The best option would be to email photo5_support@canon.com.au with your registration details and let them know excatly what the problem is. They should be able to help you from there.

I've been trying to upload over the last 48 hours.

Did a thorough troubleshoot on my end and got a tech savy friend to try it out on his computer. We believe the problem lies at your end. I sure hope this all gets worked out.
