Big news this month! Today we announced a new Canon EOS enthusiast-level digital SLR camera that is absolutely packed with features – the EOS 7D.

Introducing the ultimate all-rounder camera…

The EOS 7D is able to capture a variety of subjects in different shooting conditions and incorporates features that will allow you to push your limits creatively and experience increased control and incredible results. An 18.0 megapixel Canon-developed CMOS sensor and Dual DiG!C 4 image processors ensure outstanding image quality with fine detail, low noise and brilliant reproduction of colour and tones. The EOS 7D also features FULL HD movie recording.

The key specs:
-    18.0 Megapixel CMOS sensor
-    1st Canon EOS camera with Dual DIG!C 4 image processors
-    19-point (all cross type) Auto Focus
-    ISO 100-6400 and expandable to 12800
-    Eight frames-per-second shooting
-    FULL HD movie recording

Specs aside, I’ve tried this camera out and believe me, it’s truly impressive.

We also announced three new additions to our EOS lens range, including two new standard zoom lenses and the world’s first macro lens with a shift direction Image Stabilizer – enthusiast and professional photographers will love them!

For those of you who want to see the specs, here they are;

EF100mm f/2.8L MACRO IS USM
-    World’s first lens to include shift direction Image Stabilizer function
-    Maximum reduction of ghosting and flaring by optimising lens positioning and coating
-    Use of circular aperture with nine blades to produce attractive blur effects
-    UD glass to correct colour aberrations and achieve excellent picture quality
-    Environmentally friendly lead-free glass in optical system

EF-S18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS and EF-S15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM
-    High zoom ratio
-    Image Stabilization effect equivalent to a shutter speed around four settings faster
-    High precision aspheric and UD lenses correct aberrations
-    Both lenses use a circular aperture for soft toned images
-    High-speed AF using features such as optimised AS control

I hope you guys are as excited about the new EOS additions as we are! You’ll find these great new products in-store around October.

Wow!  This sounds like a camera that will better cover the area between enthusiast and proffesional. Any idea of cost at this stage?
